When God created the world, he created it “very good” (Gen 1:31). It was pristine, beautiful, peaceful, and perfect. This included the first people–Adam and Eve. Sin entered into the world, mankind fell and the world became an unsafe place. But God sent Jesus to repair the ruins, which he did by dying on the cross and rising from the dead. But whereas sin instantly messed up the world, Christ’s reconstruction project is taking a little bit longer. It is important to know, however, that though things aren’t completely restored, things are changing. And they are changing in a way that will restore the world to the way it was in the beginning. We invite you to join us in being part of that process.
Until then, the world is filled with sin and the ravages of sin. People are participants in the world in many ways: sinning themselves, and being sinned against. Hurting and being hurt. I’m guessing that if you are reading this, you might possibly be one of those who is suffering from the “ways of the world.” If this is true, we want you to know that though sin may rule you now, Jesus wants you. He wants you to exchange sin’s rule for his rule. Sin causes gloom and dispair. Jesus gives life and joy. So, choose who you will serve, the life you are enslaved in now, or the Lord Jesus Christ. The former leads to death and indeed is a kind of living death even now. The latter leads to a new life with new joy and new peace with God and men.
The Center for Biblical Counseling exists to help you, your family, and your friends come to Christ for help in your time of trouble. We understand because we are “in it” with you. We understand how sin can ravage a life, and we are here to help.
Our counseling is Christ Centered, Biblically motivated, and Spirit-empowered. Without Christ at the center of our lives sin will never be recognized and dealt with. Without the Word of God leading and guiding our thinking and behavior, repentance is impossible. Without the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives, no real and lasting change can occur.
We believe there is no problem of living for which the Bible does not have a solution. The Bible is the Word of God and is profitable for correcting, rebuking, and training in righteousness (2 Tim. 3:16). The Bible has been given to us as what we need for life and godliness (2 Pet. 1:3ff). If you are struggling in your life, we are here to help. If you are struggling in your relationships, we can direct you to the One who can set you free (Jn. 8:36). If you are struggling with problems in living, God can give you a new heart, new desires, new direction, and new hope.
